Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A jet ferrying Pete Hegseth was required to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the plane's windshield, per an official statement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down following standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer commented in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.
This incident isn't the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a senior official has encountered technical problems.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to head back to the US capital after suffering a mechanical fault.
