Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
