Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted on Thursday, and through an impressive performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Top Visual Design.
Adding to the developer's achievements, its gifted cast also were honored with personal awards. Jennifer English won Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his acting as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself received Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected 7 awards during the ceremony.
Additional notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the audience, with only four special—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamer Selection—determined by experts.
